The prefecture of Nagasaki comprises hundreds of islands. Perhaps the most famous and most visited of these is Tsushima. Located quite far from Nagasaki City, a trip here will almost certainly necessitate an overnight stay. There are, however, plenty of accommodations on the island, including a number of hot-spring resorts. The island is rather large and it may not give you the feeling of being on an island. However, it is also fairly undeveloped, with stretches of virgin beauty. Mitsushima Town is one popular destination. From the northernmost shore, on a clear day, you can even see Korea.
