The Trooping of the Queen's Color is held on the Saturday of the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June each year. The ceremony dates back to the ancient practice of securing the "Color" (flags bearing family badges) at the end of a day of battle. The Color in this instance was presented to the Royal Military College by Queen Elizabeth II in 1988. This parade has much pomp and ceremony including marching troops, the Royal Military College Band and a 21-gun salute to Her Majesty, the Queen.
