Located on the top floor of Old Main, which once housed the entire college, this museum features exhibits exploring the history of Boulder and the University. Displays include an architectural evolution of the campus, a hall of presidents and an athletic trophy room. A Space Room examines the careers of University of Colorado astronauts and the college's involvement in the space program. A classroom dating to the 1880s examines early learning practices. The University of Colorado Heritage Center houses a collection of sports memorabilia. Trophies won by students over the years are proudly displayed along with photographs, sports equipment and plaques. It also displays artifacts of several players from the University who have become successful professional sportsmen and women. Apart from a glimpse of the past, visitors can also get information about the latest on the University sports scene.

The Early History Gallery is a permanent exhibit at the University of Colorado Heritage Center. It houses a collection of the earliest memories of how the University started with its first batch of students in 1876, and how it was run at that time. Visitors get to see photographs, furniture and maps of the University.
