The ruins of this old plantation sit on the windward coast of the island, not too far from the sea. The best way to reach them is by driving to the New River Estate ruins, which are located on the main island road near Gingerland, and then walking down to the next set of ruins towards the sea. Follow the little goat trails, and perhaps the goats will even lead the way. Coconut Walk has a huge windmill tower, factory building ruins, and a cistern. The old limekiln, which is still in use, is perhaps the most interesting part of this relic. The ruins are now owned by the island government and available for public recreation and education. It's best to visit in daylight.
