What began as a Chinese tradition thousands of years ago has been evolving in Vancouver since 1986. This boat festival and race is one of the city's foremost multicultural events. Every June, more than 100 local and international teams, 2,500 paddlers and 100,000 spectators participate in this annual race, which is held on False Creek and features boats decorated in the Chinese tradition. Live entertainment, an international food fair and craft exhibits are just some of the activities included.
