There has been a traditional meeting in Beuel-Putzchen for centuries. Originally, it was a pilgrim's market, but today it is one of the biggest folk festivals in North Rhine Westphalia and always takes place in the first and second week of September. For five days this Bonn suburb transforms itself into a chaotic place - the traditional beginning is the opening of the barrel and a church service. The Disco Tent attracts young people in the evenings and a big firework display is held at the end of the festival. Putzchen's market donates its profits to UNICEF.
