Back to Hotel Hana-Maui and Honua Spa Amazing Place To Stay We just got back from the Hotel Hana Maui and it was amazing! We actually spent the end of our trip at the Grand Wailea and wish we had never left. The views are beautiful, the staff was super friendly, and the food great and would match that of LA The meals are freshly prepareed using the best local ingredients (great opakapaka fish, fresh locally made jam from local berries, and taro hash for breakfast!). It wasa fantastic experience and the staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome with "Aloha Spirit".

Reviewed by: golfgrll from on Jul 30 2008 The best place ever! I abs. loved the hana hotel when I visited last summer, it was very very nice the only thing that i didnt like was there is no air condioning and there arent any fans avaliable(atlest when I went) ONLY EAT ROOM SERVICE, or from the RESTURANT ON THE PROPERTY and DEFINETLY BRING SNACKS! unbelivable cottages and wonderful staff. The beds where so very comfortable and it rained very late when I visted and the way the cottage is built makes you feel as if you are outside caught in it, extremly cool. Hana is very buggy though so if you dont like bugs dont leave your doors open. i dont really think its a great family place if your children are loud.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 27 2007 HEAVEN IN HANA The Hana Maui Hotel and Spa is an amazing place to relax and pamper yourself. The staff is extremely friendly, the grounds are manicured daily and the cottages are breath taking. We stayed in an ocean front cottage which made you think you were sleeping on the ocean. The daily housekeeping was impectable (not to mention the unlimited complimentary water, hawaiian juice and sodas). The Spa really makes this place. My husband and I had several treatments and they were all fabulous! The food was great at both the hotel restaurant and the ranch but we also enjoyed the food sold by local vendors near the ball park. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away and enjoy peace. And what's all the hype with the hana highway anyways? It was a breeze, we even drove to the other side of the island one day.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 15 2007 vegetarians not welcome Everything was just wonderful except the food. I was here on my honeymoon and my husband and I called twice to make sure our veggie requirements would not be a problem. We were assured it would not be an issue and that they would love to have us. However someone forgot to tell the chef who refused to accomodate us. My husband ended up caving and tried some fish hoping for an improvement only to be dissapointed. The fish was always overcooked and the flavor combinations were that of a chef trying way too hard. Also, you had better love beets and goat cheese or you are in trouble. As for myself, I was asked every night to order a fish dish that looked good to me and they would serve it without the fish. I wasn't even given a larger portion to make up for the missing protein. After 5 days, I was ready to go. Not worth the 1,000 a day to be treated like the plague.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 20 2007 Hotel Hana Maui is beautiful but... It was not the same as it was the last time I visited as I learned it has changed ownership a number of times. The facilities are a bit worn though. Disappointing. But the staff is superb and the location is spectacular and the new chef in the restaurant is superb using only local organic ingredients and fish (is fish organic?) 100 lb local ahi sashimi to die for caught that very day, Wow!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 07 2007 the most romantic place ever We got married at the 7 pools in the national park and stayed in this hotel for a couple of days to celebrate. The lack of TV really did it's job for out honeymoon;)... It's cool they don't have nothing in the room that has a remote controll. Well, I wouldn't mind an airconditioning though. Really recommend their spa. Everything you hear about their food is true! Don't try to eat there.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 19 2007 Peaceful and Serene I loved how peaceful it was. I've never felt so relaxed and wonderful. The spa was fantastic! The organic coffee farm was a great experience and the scenery was unbelievable! My husband and I plan on going back each year. We were there in March 06 and there was a lot of rain. I sat in the hot tub with a bottle of wine and listened to the rain, it was great! I wouldn't change anything. We went to the other side of the island to Wailea and that was nice, but nothing like the more traditional true Hawaii of Hana. Thank you so much for a wonderful, rejuvenating trip!
