Walking Hezekiah's Tunnel The tunnel, built on the orders of King Hezekiah, brings the water of the Gihon spring (outside the city walls) to the Siloam pool inside the city. To walk the 530 meter tunnel, you'll need water shoes and a flashlight (candles are not allowed), not for claustrophobics. I walked the tunnel with a Dad and 3 children, the youngest was 6 and she did fine - her Dad lifted her when the water got too high. There is also a shorter, dry tunnel for the less adventuresome. Would you recommend this to a friend? Yes
Why? / Why Not? It's a special experience, splashing through the water, especially on a hot summer day.
What an Adventure Bring your river shoes. The flip flops they sell easily come off in the water. Otherwise, a great site to see it is amazing the work that went into building it.
Reviewed by: Yochanan from on Feb 25 2008 Amazing I went with a group...We had so much fun!! We sang all the way. It was so cool to be in a place that was so old. You should not go if you are claustrophobic in the slightest bit!! It is very small in some areas and the water is a little chilly! I WOULD DEFINITLY RECOMMEND IT!
