always friendly staff and the great entertainment always keep us coming back again and again. the Ritz it is not but if you want cold adult beverages at a reasonable price in a dive bar atmosphere this spot is the best we have found to date. Only drawback is that it is smoky after 9pm, even as a smoker I need eye drops and want to burn my clothes after leaving.

This bar has been there since the 1940's. You could classify it as a "dive", but that's what's neat about it. It is mostly patronized by the locals who are a motley group indeed. It is a smoky, fun-filled and crowded atmosphere on the week ends. It is loud with music and people talking. The music on the week ends is great. There are a few regular bands that play there routinely and the talent is fantastic. The tiny dance floor gets crowded fast and you never can tell what you might see going on as some people get really loose. The owner/manager does keep an eye on things to make sure things don't get out of control (such as people trying to dance on the tables - he doesn't allow that). If the place fills up, a line forms outside the door and people are allowed in as other people leave. It's a fun place, and when the music is over people don't seem to want to leave. There is a $2 cover charge after 8:00 P.M. The band usually cranks up at 8:30 or 9:00.

THIS PLACE IS MECCA FOR THOSE WHO ARE TIRED OF THE YUPPI/HAUGHTY/EGO CROWD. JUST A LAID BACK CARIBBEAN BIKER BAR. HIT THE DOOR AND LEAVE YOUR SUPERIORITY COMPLEX BEHIND. THIS PLACE IS FREQUENTED BY FISHERMAN, BIKERS, FARMERS, ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, ETC. THE BEAUTIFUL, THE UGLY, THE WOEFULLY CHALLENGED AND THE SUPER SUCCESSFUL ALL CALL THIS PLACE REFUGE. DAMN FUN ALMOST 100% OF THE TIME. THE WEEK DAY NIGHT BAND (MATANZAS) IS A DO NOT MISS. THE ROTATION OF TROUBADORS AND BANDS DEPENDING ON THE TIME OF DAY IS PERFECT FOR ALL MOODS. GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE...IT MAY TAKE MORE THAN ONE VISIT TO FIND YOUR GROOVE BUT YOU WILL FIND IT.
