Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the founder of the Chinese Republic, practiced medicine in Macau before turning his hand to revolution, and whilst working as a revolutionary, he used his home to store explosives. His home got blown to smithereens when the whole lot blew up by accident. Dr. Sun's son built the Memorial House, which replaced the ill-fated original, in 1918 as a monument to his father. Quite beautifully kept, the house features a mock-Moorish style mansion with arched windows and doorways, high ceilings and colonnaded balconies. Housed inside are memorabilia of Dr. Sun, who is revered by many Chinese tourists who visit this place.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
