Back to Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas (The) Would not recommend Going in I had high expectations, being it's the Ritz. However, I'm afraid you are paying Ritz prices for a sub-par room. The grounds are nice, pool and food was decent and service was mediocre. Again, food prices are way, way overpriced (ie. breakfast buffet for two was $60). The rooms are spacious, but could use some revamping and the walls are paper thin. We could hear the guests next to us as well as above us. Our last day staying, we discovered a crack in our bathroom ceiling that was leaking water from above. Needless to say, we were told we had to stay in our room and they would fix it in the room above us. Guest services were not accomodating at all. If it wasn't our last day there, I would have demanded another room. You are about a $5 per person cab ride from the ferries and Red Hook and $10 per person ride to downtown. Do yourself a favor and look into another hotel.

Reviewed by: TonyN from on May 12 2008 Going back june 2008 Awesome!!! Relaxing!!! Great boat/booze cruise from St. Thomas to the B.V.I.s. The water is to deie for, as well as the amentities. People are very friendly. The ferry from there to St. Johns is just a short car ride to red hook...and it takes only about 10 minutes. Just stay away from where the cruise ships come in for a extended stay, as they get VERY BUSY!!!
Reviewed by: KEVIN from on Mar 30 2008 Not a Quality Ritz-Carlton This was our third stay at a Ritz Carlton resort and our least favorite. We were e-mailed by the Ritz that we would be met at the airport and admitted to their airport lounge while we waited for our luggage and that we would be served refreshments and be able to check in at this time. When we arrived there was no one there and the Ritz Lounge was closed and dark. We were told the next day that there was an emergency meeting and that was the reason. However we met a couple who had arrived the day earlier and had the same experience. I don't like being lied to.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 18 2008 Two different experiences Many things about the Ritz in St. Thomas are nearly perfect. The views, the grounds, the restaurants, the pool and beach area are all top notch. The bathrooms just off of the pool were spotless and well stocked. If only the first room we were given was as clean and beautiful.

We had a great time and the service could not have been better. I will go back to that Ritz from now on. The privacy and the pool were great additions.
