Back to Radisson Ambassador Plaza Electricity off for 6 hours Room is lovely and spacious, but no view. Tacky casino. The power went off one night at 4am, and came back after 10am. We complained to the front desk manager who told us we were welcome to LEAVE. Fortunately, Expedia quickly booked us down the street, and we checked out three days early. Front desk manager unprofessional and sarcastic.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 26 2009 Never, Never! This has redefined fraudulent!! My view was of other run down buildings. Ask for the beach?? I am told to go to the Marriott. Breakfast (additional $16.00) consists of overdone eggs and rubbery sausages. Housekeeping responds quickly the only spot of light in the establishment. And for the pool? It's for kids and seniors...The experience threatened to spoil my spring break vacation with my son. Luckily I am resourceful and found places to go. Never go to the Radisson!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 09 2009 Would not make reservations for my worst enemy The room was nice. Big bed, great housekeeper. Horrible view. It overlooked a Burger King roof, smelled terrible on the balcony. The breakfast host was the most miserable person encountered on the whole trip. We got her little attitude after we arrived 5 minutes before it ended. It was gross, food was and coffee were horrible. The rest of the staff besides our wonderful housekeeper were just plain nasty. The beach was terrible, broken glass and grafiitti were all over the place. No chairs or umbrellas. Went 2 blocks to the Marriott and pretended to stay there. What they lacked in service was key. When on vacation I want pampering, not an attitude. Pool was bad, one of the few times we wanted to enjoy there was some Puerto Rican TV show being shot there. The life guard was a jerk, there were not even towels there. The bar never did open, not that we wanted to pay 8 bucks for a Mai Tai. Overall I hated the place with a passion. Piss poor casino and a very loud bar. Do not stay there unless you are wanting to spend money on nothing but a bed. The TV sucked too.
Reviewed by: Matthew D from on Mar 03 2009 Radisson Ambassador wonderful place! My husband and I stayed here for five days and six nights. The staff was very friendly and housekeeping was excellent! The room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the bed! It is a king and quite comfy! Great location. It is close to all of the great restaurants and stores on Ashford, and only two block walk to the beach! Our room was quiet and the staff was wonderful. The restaurant upstairs was quite lovely and delicious!! We had fun at the casino too. Overall, this is a great place to stay. It is clean, close to everything including the beach, for about a two block walk and quite economical!! Once again, staff was helpful and friendly and there was always taxis out front for longer excursions. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!! Excellent!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 01 2009 I'M NOT HAPPY! I was happy with the location. HOWEVER, the room was horrendous, the bed felt like you were laying on plywood! There was no lobby area for you to sit and wait for tour buses! Also whe trying to order movies you are charged but services aren't rendered due to technical difficulties on their end. Upon checking out of the hotel we were asked to pay for a movie that we didn't even see! I would not recomment this hotel to anyone including business travelers. As mentioned in previous comments the balcony view sucks!
Reviewed by: Jason from on Aug 26 2008 Will not go back First time I've stayed in the caribbean without a view of the beach. The balcony in our room, overlooking the trash dumpster of the fast food restaurant, didn't quite do it at the Radisson. Rooftop pool was crowed with little kids, but from one corner there was a brief beach view. Bar was depressing. But then I find casinos depressing also.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 03 2008 Not a Resort, Ideal for Bussiness Travel This is a good Hotel very well located, it is NOT oceanfront resort, you can walk 3 blocks to the beach but you won’t find any chairs or umbrellas, there is a BIG difference between the Suites and the rooms ,the rooms are not updated and they smell (located at the west side) the suites (east side) are very nice totally remodeled some come with a living room, microwave and a small refrigerator, don’t expect any ocean view, the ocean is blocked by the Condos in the area, the lobby is a corridor with a front desk.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 24 2008 I'm goin today again Most of the times that i visti the hotel is for the casino, love the service, they had always machines available and the people that work there are very gently.

Room service was excellent, hotel was very accomodating. Hotel staff was always ready for questions, giving suggestions for things to do in San Juan, any given time of the day or night. Location was excellent very close to the airport.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 25 2007 We might come back with a better experience in stay Listen to this, I have to asked for a refrigerator 'coz there's none in the room and have a diabetic person with us and a baby. The bathroom is a sad case because there's no fan and it stinks the whole room; not very pleasant at all. I requested to change room but did not get it, sorry.
