The first museum exclusively documenting local history was founded privately in 1986 and set up in Beuel's oldest half-timbered house. The historical development of Beuel, is chartered here - from the stone ages to the present day. Characteristic industries for Beuel, such as fishing, laundry, shipping and old crafts are illustrated in the different rooms. In the delightful inner courtyard there is a one man bunker as well as a 500 kilogram bomb which exploded in the city in the Second World War.
