The Expressionist painter August Macke lived in this Classical house on the Borheimer with his family from 1911 onwards. His studio is to be found in the attic - this is the place where over 350 of his works originated. The house was bought by the city in 1989 and restored the house to its original state and opened it to the public. A visit to the house is well worth it, not only because it is a memorial to the painter, but also because it reminds one of the artists' life, with all the objects and contemporary documents that can be seen here.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
