Karl Friedrich Schinkel laid down the plans for the Academic Art Museum in 1824. It lies in a wonderful location on the edge of the Hofgartenwiese directly opposite the main university buildings. The building contained the Archaeological Institute of the University in the nineteenth century. Today visitors find antique originals, among which is a work originating from the Cycladian times in 3AD. The extensive collection of plaster casts of antique statues and reliefs is very impressive. The museum has 2000 objects, it is one of the largest in Germany.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York! Experience New York At It's Finest!JustClickLocal.comAlaska – it’s HOT!
