About the Compass Room Restaurant- I just wanted to let you and all of your readers know that the service at this restaurant is awful. We happened to go there for Valentine’s dinner and it was a total disaster. The place was extremely busy and I think this stressed out the staff because the hostess was very rude to us from the very second we arrived. She seated us in the absolute worst table they had. The waiters would not get us any water, so I had to ask. The food was over priced and cold when we finally did get it. All in all it turned out to be a total waste of time. We will never go back to this place again. I will also recommend to all of the people I know that they stay clear as well. Thank you.

Disappointing stay for the price
I stayed here overnight while on a recent business trip. Front desk staff wasn't very helpful; room service staff was friendly though. Room service menu is pricey and the hamburger I ordered was just OK, not great. The temperature controls in the room were difficult to operate and the room seemed too warm even overnight. The worst thing was when I woke up at 5:00 am to shower before leaving for the airport and the water was ICE COLD. Not even a hint of warmth. I called the front desk for help and they put me on hold as soon as they answered - twice - the second time I waited several minutes for them to pick the line up again but they never did. So I gave up and took an extremely cold and short shower. Unacceptable given the price range of this hotel.

Empty
There was no one there!!! We went in July, there weren't any people on the streets, the restaurants nearby were empty. The movie theater was a complete ghost town. I heard it was because of the heat and sandstorms but I've never seen anything like this before. It was 114 degrees our entire visit.

Great Business Center
The Hyatt has a UPS Store for a business center. The most complete and convienent hotel business center I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The staff was friendly and helpful. The accomadations were a little tired for the price. Excellent location to the convention center.

Most Disappointing Buffet Ever
This Thanksgiving Buffet was the less than ordinary. While the Compass Room has a great view, food was cold, burnt and uninspired. Shrimp barely cooked and flavorless, turkey dry, bread stale, desserts tasted like refridgerated box cakes and pies. If they were created and baked on site, the pastry chef should be let go. I was so disappointed...the Hyatt, no less. We decided we would have been better off to eat at Islands, at least the price would have been more in line with the quality.

Room without a view
Would you ever think that a hotel room would not have a window? Well - room 805 is windowless. When I checked in the clerk mentioned that my request for a king size bed could not be accomodated. Are you sure I asked and the clerk typed away and assigned me room 805. She wished me a pleasant evening and off I went to my room. It had a kind size bed! There were no windows! It was pitch black in the room. I never knew that there could be such a room at a "good" hotel. I demanded that the room be changed and the next thing I knew I was on a high floor with a king size bed. Why could they have not given me this room to begin with?

OMG! U do not kno wat ur missing unless u've been here. I mite have been there 4 breakfast/dessert, but I can tell u rite from that visit how it was. The dessert to start with is soooooo goooooooooood. Their Blueberry Cappucino Espresso is tounge sothing. The service is really comfortable, and u can get a 360 view of ALL OF PHOENIX. Great for romantic dates or family get togethers. And the price is fair enough and not too expensive! I'm serious. U DO NOT KNO WAT UR MISSING PPLS!!!!!!! :D

My Choice Hotel for Phoenix
I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency three times in the past three years, every time I go to Phoenix and I love this hotel. It's a little pricey, but it is considered a four star on many travel websites. The rooms are great, the restaurants are amazing, and Einstein's Bagels downstairs is very convenient and inexpensive. I'm planning on staying here again in November '06.

Good hotel, dud location
Unless you are here for a local sporting event, downtown is pretty lifelesss. Would suggest Scottsdale area. Overall amenities were nice and expected for this price range $175/night. Exceptionally quiet.
