Back to Ein Kerem Peace and beauty in a serene place This is a really nice place a very short taxi ride from Jersalem or serviced by bus from city center. If you visit Jersalem you must see this place. The center of town has a beautiful mosque with a fresh water spring that has been flowing from the time of Mary and Jesus's time. There are picquese rolling hills and valley spotted with fruit and olive trees. This was the best part of my trip. There are several very old monestries that spot the mountain sides. There are two that allow you to spend the night for a very low rate.

I enjoyed the many gardens and especially where you could spend some quiet time. It seemed that people of all faiths lived happily side by side. The roads gettin here are really bumpy but, perhaps this is exactly the way the people want it...I recommend Bible Times Center for a lovely garden filled and pleasant conversation.

On a hillside with marvellous views, it has cool breezes which are a welcome relief in the heat of the local summer, producing an almost European atmosphere here in the Middle East.A place where Jews and Christians live happily side by side. Especially recommended is a visit to Beth HaGath, a small Christian community (which has rooms to rent)of people who came to live in the Holy Land and try to make peace between people without missionarizing. They make their own wine and oil.
