Nestled in the stylish Hotel Sofitel is an authentic brasserie, specializing in French food and wines. The glamorous surroundings and superb service will dazzle you. A jazz trio sets the mood on Friday and Saturday evening. Omelets, steak and eggs, fresh pastries and bagels, cream soups, deli sandwiches, salads and quiche are the highlights by day. Dinner is a culinary delight. Start with Crêpe à la Reine, filled with chicken and mushrooms in cream sauce or Escargots de Bourgogne, drenched in garlic parsley butter. Next, the soupe a l'oignon gratinee, a vintage French onion soup served under a bubbling cheese crust. No one can resist an entrée of chicken simmered in red Burgundy wine with mushrooms, pearl onions and bacon, or braised lamb shank with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. On the lighter side, linguini tossed with vegetables, wild mushrooms, garlic and olive oil is just right. The wine list is highlighted by French imports and rather expensive. Beer, cocktails, juices, coffee, tea and soft drinks are also served.
