I usually come here for my business trips because of its convenient location and efficient service. However, last month, I came with my wife and we stayed in the Spa Cottage. The minute we stepped into the cottage, we were stunned. The room is large, very modern, yet very relaxing. It has a spa treatment room, living room, bedroom, and private patio. We had a really nice time.

I did not expect much before going to the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok from reading the reviews on this site. However, I would have to say I was very impressed. The location is fabulous-right in the heart of the city and within walking distance from all the major shopping malls.

On a whim and a splurge we booked a "spa cottage" -- one of 5 suites they added two years or so back that sit next to the pool on the deck of the hotel. We were glad we did. These suites contain their own spa-treatment facilities and adjoin the pool. They feel very restful and restorative, yet are mere feet from the crossroads of Bangkok. Hard to beat for a combination of getting away from it all yet not getting away at all.

I had a bad experience in Spasso last weekend. The number of "workers" has risen dramatically. It is sad to see how decent local folks out to have a good time with their friends being mistaken as "workers".

the hotel looks not mantained, dirty and dusty, rooms are not very clean,

Just stayed there (early May 2005), swimming pool and outdoor area are under construction. We were only told after checking in (we saw other people had the same experience in the hotel). If you request, Hotel can arrange you to use another hotel's pool (We went to Raffles Int'l).

Great location with Skytrain stations nearby. Shopping located around hotel. The staff is very helpful and hospitable. The rooms were modern unlike your typical hotel rooms these days. Try the room service for a special night in.

I've stayed here many times, most recently in Feb 2004. It's a gleaming hotel, good for business travelers, with very nice rooms. Good location, with shopping and transportation very close.

This is a great hotel. Very centrally located. Rooms are nice - spacious, clean, with all the amenities. There is an interesting shrine in the gardens. Service is great.
