For an adventure that's exciting and safe, there's nothing like a ride in a hot air balloon. The views over the 14,000-acre Letchworth State Park, about 1 1/2 hours southeast of Buffalo are spectacular: 600-foot cliffs and waterfalls along the Genesee River Gorge. Excursions last between two and three hours with flights either at sunrise or hours before sunset. Flights end with a champagne toast before passengers are driven back to their vehicles. Prices: USD185 per person up to a party of six.
