Back to Sukhothai (The) The art of the perfection ! I am working in the High End Fashion industry since 1991, I spend my life traveling every 2 weeks from East to West. Among the 5 stars hotels I stayed, The Sukhothai is far the Best! La creme de la creme...
Reviewed by: thomas from on Dec 23 2006 Wonderful hotel at a good location The Sukhothai is a business-oriented hotel, with a more central location than those on the riverfront. The rooms are appointed in traditional Thai style and pretty luxurious.

Beautifully fitted rooms where you are loathe to leave your own belongings scattered about lest it destroy the sleek lines of the woods and silks. Great bathrooms. A long and deep and rectangular pool that is great for swimming. Beaming staff. Great room service. Why can't the rest of the world's hotels be more like this?

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! User from on May 16 2005 Absolute Perfection We traveled to Bangkok and did extensive research on hotels. We were torn between the Sukhothai and The Oriental. We were so pleased at the attention to detail at the Sukhothai. The staff was amazing and the rooms were beautiful as well as the manicured grounds. We stayed in a cabana room...all teak and thai silk.We suggest this hotel to anyone who expects a little more...and though the price is more than you will pay for most great hotels in Bangkok..it is worth every penny.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 21 2004 Chocolates at the Sukhothai! We were very pleased that the Sukhothai was among the choices we were offered during our last trip to Bangkok. I had stayed at the Oriental in the past. But this time, the Sukhothai came highly recommended. And it was well worth it!The service was excellent and unobstrusive. I appreciated the fact that although the staff was conscious of security, they were very discreet. The room was like a spa in itself but i tried the hotel spa as well. The treatment was thorough and leaning towards the traditional. The therapist was warm, considerate and competent. (Earlier this year, i had tried the spa at Pathumwan Princess Hotel and was very impressed at the more cosmopolitan choices offered me - what were my preferred scents for the body salt rub, the massage oil? The more traditional spa at the Sukhothai asked no such questions.)Back to the room, the bed was soft but firm, the television & other amenities easy to operate, the room secure. And - wonder of wonders! - every evening, when the bed had been turned down, a mind-reading Thai fairy left six wonderful truffles for me!!! (Oh yes, there were different fruit baskets laid out daily - just like in the Shang - but chocolate IS the extra mile!).Needless to say, I will be back.

The service may be the best in the world and the food is phenomenal. Having lived in Bangkok for 5 years, I've seen all the places and when I travel back, this is the place I stay.
