Take a short ferry ride to the charming old-fashioned settlement of Hope Town on Elbow Cay. This hamlet has been home to about 300 people for generations. Bicycles rule the roads here, with motorized transport and modern facilities being few and far between in Hope Town. The island has had telephone service only since 1988. Fine dining, quaint gift shops and sightseeing draw day-trippers from Marsh Harbor. Many come for a tour of the lighthouse, one of the last still using kerosene lighting. Many scuba and fishing charters leave from the town. Visit the information center in town for information.
