Gung--meaning rock lobster--is an apt name for this delightful seafood cafe, situated next to The Boathouse on beautiful Kata Beach. Live music comes in the form of jazz, which provides a true interpretation of the restaurant’s relaxed informal atmosphere. Not surprisingly, lobster is a speciality, with plenty of Rock Lobster (THB90 per kilo) and Phuket Lobster (THB250 per kilo) on hand. If lobster is not to your liking, then try the Beef Carpaccio (THB120) or the Deep Fried Shrimp Crepe at THB120. Both are wonderfully fresh and tasty.
