In the early 1980s, Bev and Joe Gannon purchased the run-down building that used to be the company store for the long-gone pineapple cannery. They proceeded to turn it into a world-class restaurant, keeping the classic storefront and high ceilings. In the ensuing years, this establishment has won countless culinary awards and a huge, loyal fan base. The restaurant is especially noted for great salads and creative appetizers. You can start a meal with rock shrimp and crab, served with an outrageous mango dipping sauce and green papaya salad. Entrees range from a spicy Szechuan Barbecued Salmon to grilled rack of lamb.

A dining experience not to be missed
This is the sister restaurant to Joe's in Wailea. This is Bev Gannon's stellar performer (Joe is her husband). We've been there once per trip -- first time 1993, most recently 12/06. Bev is approachable, warm, and it shows, in the atmosphere, food, and service, all of which is superlative (minor problem - wall surfaces are hard so it can get VERY noisy). From her signature ("I'll never tell") crab pizza to the Paniolo (Hawaiian for Spanish --) ribs or the daily specials, and then the lilikoi brulee....for dessert, this is a once a trip experience (unless you're independently wealthy) if you're going to blow 70 pp on dinner, this is the place to do it. Try the local brew too -- Longboard Lager -- you don't have to be prissy w/ the wine....
