The Palais El Badi hosts this annual folklore festival along with many other beautiful venues. The festival was created in the sixties and is said to be the best folklore and traditional music festival in the whole of the country. In 2005, UNESCO ranked it as part of the Humanity Cultural and Immaterial Heritage. Currently held in June, it is a nice alternative to Marrakech's various activities. Anyone with an interest in music should find the time to catch at least some part of the two-week festival. There are various musicians and dancers who come from all over Morocco including Gnaoua drummers, musicians from the Atlas Mountains, and Andalusian musicians.
