The complex is a reddish-brown elongated multi-storey building met at one end by the posh Hotel Equatorial. Boasting 1.2 million sq ft of built-up area, it has dominated the local shopping scene from day one. Anchored by Parkson Grand (a local chain of departmental stores), it also counts on a large souvenir and handicraft centre, a supermarket, a cineplex, a food court, numerous restaurants and cafes, a bowling alley and amusement arcades to draw in the crowds.

Shibaraku Restaurant
Agree with one of the review posted on Shibaraku Restaurant. That day I went there with my family at around 1:30p just to look see what are the meal packages they were having. And to my surprised, they had started the buffet at the teppanyaki corner and the buffet price is considered cheap for me without having to look at the menu/dishes served. So we told the reception, a lady that we want table for four adults and two children. The reception just ignored our request and told us that if we want to eat come back at 5:30p. After hearing this, we don't feel happy because the lady didn't even try or make an effort to go inside to have a look if additional tables can be allocated or even apologize to us for not having anymore available tables. In my opinion, some of the guests might leave after the meal and if so we are able to go in to have our lunch but the lady didn't even bother to ask us if we mind to wait for a while in case there might have some customers leaving. They should have allowed the customers to sit at the other side of the restaurant but consume the food from the buffet counter in case they do not have enough seats at the Buffet corner.

Bad customer service just at first sight. Even my brother who was there with me at that time, said he will not go again to that restaurant forever

Restaurant Sibaraku
I have a bit of complaints on one of the restaurant in Mahkota Prade Malacca namely SIBRARAKU,the servis there is totally bad.We enter the restaurant,but we are not able to order sushi ( According to the waiter is because of the cook is very busy due to lots of customers,but i had checked there are only less than 20 person in that restaurant.Add on,the special drink called "SIBRARAKU SPECIAL" taste was terrible bad.Lastely,we order the butter prawn,which is no butter taste and just soya taste.

Cheater in money changer
Beware if you want to exchange currency in Mahkota Parade. There is a small money changer operated by 2 Malay men who are cheaters, located underneath a staircase in front of Kamdar and Osim shops. My personal experience on 22 Apr 2006, 3 pm when I exchanged S$33 for RM. The money changer will not give you the ratio promised with excuse that your amount is too small. If you took the money exchanged, and want to cancel the business later, the men will quietly removed a note, maybe 10.00, or 50.00 depends on whichever has more pieces. They will then tell you your money is short of xxx, so you can't ask for a refund. I was cheated RM11.30 on that day. Be careful.
