This slightly drab fifties building comes alive during the summer, when it is transformed into one of Cologne's most atmospheric beer gardens, located on the banks of the Rhine.
While the kids build sand castles on the beach, mum and dad can relax and enjoy the great view of the river and the old town. The upper patio is connected to a restaurant where, at midday on Sundays, the 'chill-out brunch' is served up. The lower patio is home to the beer garden, where guests can dig into barbecued sausages and steaks and down a few glasses of Kölsch beer.
