Back to Gunter Hotel (The) Dirty room, noise from traffic all night this is a old hotel charging premium prices.our room was dirty, carpet was filthey, you can hear other guest talking from the next room, the bathroom extremely small and old fashion flushing system.the lobby customer service mgr is extremely rude, she will tell you she has been working there for 6 years and knows all the company policies and procedures. She will argue instead of been friendly or helpful, this was an expensive and disapointment for us.
Reviewed by: jmasic from on Oct 29 2009 Not bad at all... My girlfriend and I just returned from this place. The location is great, near the riverwalk, and walking distance from a lot of great attractions (restaurants, bars, tourist attractions) The customer service was outstanding, most of the employees were very friendly and always asking if there was anything they could do, or if we needed directions anywhere. Always gave good recommendations on restaurants, etc.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 22 2008 Great place to stay Myself and a couple of friends spent a weekend at Sheraton Gunter and had a wonderful time. The room was very clean, the service was excellent and the beds were soooo comfortable. :) It is an easy hotel to drive to, is directly across the street from the theater and a short walk to the main area on the Riverwalk. Sheraton Gunter was highly recommended to me by a friend and I will definitely visit here again.

Reviewed by: Barefoot Chick from on Aug 15 2007 Rather Shabby but not too Chic This hotel was very disappointing for the price or maybe our expectations were a little too steep. The room wasn't too bad, though very, very cramped. They initially placed us in a single room, though we had requested a double.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 04 2007 NIghtmare -- Avoid this hotel We were initially placed in a room connected to another with double doors. That room had a noisy child. We were uanble to sleep. To get a room change we had to walk down as the phone was not working.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 02 2007 "no thanks"-giving buffet While the food was o k, the service was lacking. I realize it was Thanksgiving and crowded but the hotel should have hired additional servers for this day! Add insult to injury by tacking on an automatic 20% tip on a table of 2! They still left the tip space blank on the bill and I'm sure some unsuspecting folks added in another tip! Most of the servers and particularly the managers need to go to "smile and be friendly" school.....we will not be back.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 28 2006 Nice Hotel / Great location but every small Rooms We had a great stay at this hotel. The room we stayed in was an Executive King Bed Room and was very small. Bath room was very small. Overall experience was great - clean room and good service. Be ready to wait until 3:00pm for your room if you plan to arrive early. Took advice of previous hotel reviewers and parked across the street to save a few bucks - $18 is just to much. Location of the hotel is great - within walking distance of Riverwalk. Lobby is beautiful.
