Atop Mt. Togyangsan (124 meters high) stands Haengjusansong Fortress, where General Kwon Yul with 2,300 soldiers defeated over 30,000 Japanese forces during the Japanese invasion of 1592. Sansong means, 'fortress' and Haengju means 'apron' in Korean. In the battle for this site, there were very few soldiers, so women had to help. They used their aprons to carry the stones that were hurled at the enemy. Based on this story, the armament got its name. Besides tourists, local hikers can be seen here daily, enjoying the natural beauty.
