B-E-A-utiful!
If there's a swell reported, make sure to go and watch the surfers. Seriously, one on the more beautiful places on the island...to watch from shore. There are tons of danger signs posted around the beach. EXTREME CURRENT: IF IN DOUBT, DO NOT GO OUT. Listen to the signs.

Pavils
The locals will hang out at the pavilions while the professional windsurfers will be going off at the other side and greentree's. When there is little wind, and a solid North Swell, look out for close out sets that will break all across the harbour. On a big day, only experience surfers and bodyboarders will be out.

Ho'okipa Beach
This is one of my favorite places on the island. I love to watch both the windsurfers and the board surfers. The rougher the surf, the more exciting the viewing. This beach is best for watching water sports. The high surf can be dangerous. My sister was once knocked over by the foam from a breaking wave when we were standing in water up to our ankles. We were both adults at the time. It wasn't a child who was knocked down.
