Back to Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa Rooms need an upgrade! We were very disappointed in our rooms and we had a deluxe ocean front! The view was amazing but the actual room was disappointing. I am a little person and I could hardly fit in the bathroom! The hotel is in a great location and the pool is beautiful. However, we would not stay here again.

Travelocity editors removed my comment about finding a cockroach in our room (361) even though I mentioned having reported it to the front desk.
Reviewed by: Richard D from on Feb 05 2009 Excellent, Hyatt Regency Maui We have stayed at the Hyatt many times. We normally stay in a Regency Suite, it has an awesome view of the ocean and the mountains. The staff are very helpful, beautiful rooms, location, grounds, it is awesome. Staff will help you set up your day with activities, events and places to visit. Just ask. They have a Lu'au each day for thier guests and the public. It is one of the best Lu'au's we've been too.
Reviewed by: Travel Dawg from on Jan 04 2009 Great location! This hotel was absolutely breathtaking... our room had a full ocean view and was incredibly romantic. The hotel is perfectly placed at the end of Kaanapali Beach. So, after a long stroll along the beach, you end up at back at your hotel and realize its the best one on the strip. LOVED IT!

Reviewed by: golfgrll from on Aug 23 2008 Most amazing time Me and my husband stayed at the Hyatt in Maui from July 19th to the 24th. This wa sour Honeymoon. The hyatt was so amaizing. The lobby is so relaxing. They have Penguins and parrots all around. The view is amazing as well. The pool get crowded fast. best time to go is early in the morning or later in the afternoon. They have an Expedia travel/attractions desk right on premissis. They take care of everything for you. Also there is a doctor in the hotel. This came in handy when My Husband developed a fever. They took care of him right away. I would definetly recommend this Hyatt to anyone. Definetly visit whalers village right down the street also.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 05 2008 The Best Resort on Kaanapali My wife and I just returned from our 25th Anniversary visit at the Hyatt Regency Maui from March 9-23 and once again couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. We always stay in an ocean front Regency Club room and have never had a problem with the room cleanliness or size of the room and the bed is the most comfortable that we have slept on in any hotel. The housekeeping staff is very professional and we've never had a room with a dirty bathtub. Everyone we have contact with is polite and very professional including the check-in staff, bellmen, valets, Regency Club concierges and restaurant staff with most of them calling us by our name-a very nice and personal touch. In fact, we have become friends with quiet a few of the employees since we have seen some of the same welcoming faces since we first visited in 1983. This visit did find the noise of construction for a few days, but I'm one who realizes that remodeling must be done or then the complaints come in about the hotel being run down and old. We were very happy to see Cascades open for lunch as this is our favorite and has been since the beginning when it was Lahaina Provision Company. They were also in the process of updating equipment in all the elevators, but once again we were never inconvenienced because there were always 2 of the 3 elevators working in the Atrium tower---they never shut them all down at once. I have to say that the Hyatt Regency is still our favorite place to stay with it's open-air atrium lobby, flagstone floors, beautiful grounds and the Aloha spirit that comes from all of their wonderful employees.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 24 2007 outdated and overvalue hotel poor room quality. Upon arrival, sink drainage was broken in the first room (Deluxe Ocean Front). After we switched to new room, the toilet flush broke after 1st room service. Later light bulb of night stand went out. In-room coffee machine is dirty and so is the bath tub. Note there is an additional $15 mandatory resort fee per day. I feel like I'm getting 3 1/2 room quality and over paying $530+ per day for Deluxe Ocean View room through AAVacation. For that price, Four Seasons in Wailea is much much better (true 5 star hotel).
