This riverside venue is well known for nightly performances by a talented guitarist named Took and his band, who play renditions of old Hendrix, Dylan, Marley and other favorites. Sit outside in the lush garden setting where acoustic guitar is played or inside at the bar and catch the famous Took and Friends. The menu lists a wide range of seafood, European and Thai fare. House specialties include roast duck in red curry and crispy fried serpent head with spicy mango salad. There is also a good selection of cocktails and spirits.2 ¢/min and up – call home from over 100 countries!http://travel.comfi.com/Best Value. Best Escape. – Escape to Tampa Bay! For a first-hand experience of the difference between good and bad management in the hospitality industry sample Chiang Mai's famous Riverside, delivering excellence every day after 20 years in the business with lighning fast and friendly service, fresh ingredients and good prices. Then take a stroll to the Brasserie. The place will be almost empty, the food is mediocre and you'll wait for it's delivery by listless and clueless staff. Always thoroughly check your bill as it might be padded (Did I really order these expensive jumbo shrimps for 300 Baht?), escpecially in the restaurant section. There have been reports of pickpockets operating in the "music section" and the current management does not hear complaints in these cases, they might even bring the thugs in. This place has seen much better days a few years back and the location would make it a great place if the management was more capable.
