Back to Old Lahaina Luau I'll be back in September. A fantastic location, delicious Hawaiian food, very courteous and attentive staff and a truly unforgettable show with good explanations of the legends of Hawaii performed by beautiful dancers. Our first visit to Hawaii ( from U.K. ) coincided with our wedding anniversary and we were not alone at the Luau as there were many other couples like us and lots of Honeymooners too, one guy even proposed while we were having our "special" Anniversary/Honeymoon Waltz, this also helped make the atmosphere feel more romantic and exciting - she said Yes !. It is also great fun to see all us old guys wearing our brand new fancy Hawaiian "floral" shirts. A fabulous introduction to Maui and I always recommend it to anyone who listens, DO NOT be put off the food by the nay-sayers it is first-class unless you prefer to eat at McD or P Hut and the boys & girls will fetch a fresh MaiTai ( or tipple of your choice ) as soon as you like. Yes I have already made reservations to return to Maui this year and while I am in paradise I shall also return to the fabulous Old Lahaina Luau, it's worth every penny!.

Reviewed by: daniele from on Mar 02 2009 Good time My wife was dying to go to a Luau and we were told this was the best one on the island. We had a great time. Prior to the show there are a bunch of stations near the water where they show you how the early Hawaiian's made fishing nets, lei's, etc. They unearth the pig for you which is cool, but make sure you get to the area early otherwise you are stuck in the back and can't see much. The best part is the energy that the bartenders and waiters have. Their main objective is to make sure you are having a good time and they do a great job.
Reviewed by: esq from on Nov 03 2008 Superb!!! Family vacation in the Fall of 2007. The luau was fantastic. Once the sun sets and the festivities begin, there is nothing like it. Paid a little extra to sit up nest to the stage, and it was well worth it. Even our 2 daughters(8&6) were wide-eyed the entire time.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 22 2008 Great Luau! We went to the Old Lahaina Luau in September 2007. It was great! We actually stayed at the Royal Lahaina Resort, but went to this luau instead, just to get away and try something outside our resort area. It was great! The food was delicious. I can appreciate how these people do this year round for annoying tourists, but they were very friendly and accomidating. The show was awesome, with so many different dances and costume changes. If anyone has any reservations about choosing this luau on your trip, don't!
Reviewed by: Private from on May 28 2008 Best Luau in the islands Absolutely the best! We've been to a half dozen and the Old Lahaina Luau is the very best one on any island of Hawaii. We look forward to doing it again next year. Aloha,
Reviewed by: Betty from on Jan 04 2008 Love it! This luau is the best there is on Maui. If you want to be apart of it you MUST book it 3 months ahead to get in. Don't wait till you get here to get seats; they'll be gone by then. Love the food, staff & atmosphere here. It's not so large that you lose the Polynesian Culture!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 18 2007 Lovely, Enjoyable, a Great Evening! Old Lahaina Luau's welcome began as we left the sidewalk in front of the venue. We were escorted through to the entrance, our tickets were taken, and a mai-tai was placed in our hand, all with welcoming smiles from staff. We were then escorted to our tables, and the evening briefly explained to us. There were areas to observe island crafts and arts, places to get photos, dance lessons, and two separate buffet areas to keep everybody well fed later on. The serve staff kept the spirit 'up' and and the drinks coming. The seating nearest the stage for those who wanted to sit on the floor was great, especially for families with little ones, who sat entranced (like the rest of us!) during the entertainment. Live music, great dancers, and the master-chanter--they all gave great performances. It's easy to see they love their home, and their art. It will remain one of my most memorable experiences on Maui!
