From this restaurant's vantage point, the view of the Crystal Court's 105-foot waterfall is spectacular. This Italian eatery received national attention in the opening of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, as fans saw Mary Richards dining on the balcony portion of this quiet, unassuming restaurant. Each evening diners are treated to mellow harp or piano tunes. Entrees include blackened walleye, broiled scallops, New York strip steak and a variety of gourmet pizzas, pastas and salads. The wine and beer selection is one of the best in town, featuring 20 wines by the glass and many domestic and imported vintages and brands. Cocktails and soft drinks are also available. The relaxing surroundings, sophisticated service and excellent food makes Basil's one of the most reliable dining destinations in Minneapolis.
