Back to Gas Works Park Great Park A beautiful park and a great place to go on a sunny day. Don't forget the Ballard Locks nearby too. Only bad thing is how the bums are allowed to stay and urinate and defecate all over inside the structure. The park is a beautiful setting.
Reviewed by: me from on Feb 03 2008 A great view of the Seattle skyline We spent an afternoon here and found it to be a great green space where people come to fly kites, walk dogs, have BBQ's and even (on our trip) have their wedding pictures taken ! It gives a great view of Seattle and is a really unique park.
Reviewed by: Hazel from on Oct 20 2007 Great View! We thought this place was amazing. Great view of Seattle from the park. Nice place to sit on the grass. There were a good amount of people there, but not so many that it was crowded and annoying. It's neat seeing the huge old plant in the middle of the green, grassy park. Watching the sunset from here was amazing. I can't wait to go back someday. --Bring a book, a camera, maybe some music and a little picnic, and chill!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 15 2007 where to go on a sunny sunday afternoon in seattle Nice place to hang out for a while, picnic with the family (4/5 BBQ are available)...when I went there, there was lot of art student from a nearby university (Washington U, I suppose, the campus is within walking distance from the park) trying to draw the former plant, while some teenagers were enjoying their skateboard...

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 01 2005 Gas Works Park Gas Works Park is one of the best parks in Seattle. You can see the old gas work pipes while your kids play on a huge jungle gym. There is a huge grass hill in the middle with a winding path that goes up it. This is a great place to layout a towel and soak up the sun. Gas Works park is not usually very crowded. Also, if you come near the 4th of July, you can get the best view of the fireworks in town. Just be ready to share the view with at least 5,000 other people.
