the best in seoul
I have never really been here before but the Koreans are really nice. We(the ata members and I) actually stayed at Hotel Capital. I won 1st in sparring and I was 16 and Kevin was 15. I would like to stay at this hotel next time which will be in 2007. Later.

Great Service
We had an overnight flight arriving in Seoul by the small hours in the morning. Not expecting to be allowed checked in at 0600, we were very grateful for the Ritz Carlton for letting us checking in straight away and we therefore could catch up with some sleep before going shopping for the rest of the day in downtown Seoul. We also had a late return flight and were allowed late check out by 1500. We find the hotel very decent and although it could be newer, considering the price we paid and the good service, it's a good-value choice that we were glad to have made.

Ritz in Name Only
Not up to Ritz Carlton standards. They do not know how to cater to guests. The restaurants are often full with locals ans the staff is dismissive of guests. Club floor staff is either ill trained or taken with their position. Not a warm hotel at all. The rooms are small to boot.

Nice Hotel, but not "Ritzy"
Friendly, accommodating staff. They went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable.

Serene elegance amid the hustle and bustle
Whether you visit Seoul for business or pleasure, its intense vortex of pollution, people and traffic begs for a peaceful retreat. Located in the upscale Kangnam district, the classic Ritz Carlton is a classy watering hole for weary travelers.

Going again
The rooms are small but very comfy and plush. The beds are nice but the walls are thin. The atmosphere is upscale and private. Service is as it should be for a Ritz. Everything in the hotel is expensive, really expensive. There are very few places to dine in the area and the area is very noisy and busy. To reach the areas' of interest is a bit of a travel by cab or underground. Careful to check the complimentary shuttle service provided by hotel, it is scarce and no service is provided should you miss the alotted times.

So So in Seoul
The RC is below most others in the chain. It is nice enough, but unremarkable.Rooms are smallish. Location includes long walk up the drive-tough in ice. Some help was unfriendly, others very nice. Club Floor lounge was often run by a woman with the personality of a gila monster.Night club was comfortable.

Beware! Really Disappointing
Stayed here for the first and last time last month. Shoebox room, narrow scary corridor. I was turned away at a restaurant because outsiders took all the tables. Any top class hotel makes room for its guests. Then there was the hotel nightclub where Korean guys would hassle me. There were a couple of fights there too. I would not stay there again.

Surly, Surly, Surly
I gave up staying here when the service started to border on surly. I got the sense that some employees didn't care for Americans much, because others didn't get the same treatment. On the other hand, some employees were delightful. The food is good, rooms smallish. The Club Floor Lounge was ruled by a young woman who was downright haughty and rude. After getting a smart aleck remark from her on a stay early last year, I gave up on the Ritz Seoul for good.
