During the day one may find a whole mixture of people in here. By night it's used by twenties/thirties as well as those visiting the adjacent Brighton Little Theatre. Wooden floors, furniture and walls, old style pictures and ornaments, bookshelves and lamps give a quaint feel. Several lagers are on offer as well as Hoegaarden Belgian beer, Directors bitter, bottled drinks, spirits and even Absinthe, a green aniseed-like drink. Banned circa 1900 this supposedly aided creativity but over-use sent people mad. At £3.20 a shot, sanity is very likely but it's worth trying once. Lunchtime meals and snacks are also available and for sports lovers there are two televisions.
