Worth it!
This was great fun. Even if you don't believe in ghosts the historic stories are well worth it. You can tell the guide is well informed and has researched his stories, and tells you where you can access his sources.

BORRING
this tour is the crappiest tour i have ever been on in SF. there are a lot better tours than this especially in SF. Save yourself 20 bucks and 3 hours worth of wasted time. This guys a fake. he claims to have some kinda master degree in ghostology and that many universities wanted to study him because he claims to be able to communicate with the ghosts. He says he brings you to see all the kind ghosts so they wont harm you and like does this ritual when he spits on you to protect you from the bad ghosts. whole thing is bogus.

Waste of money
$20, 2 hrs of walking around one block and one hour of sitting around in a lobby. didnt see anything interesting, everything on this site and his site is exactly everything you are going to see. the only thing you get in return at the end of the tour is a cheap ghost pin with a glow stick.

Do Not Go
He is a wannabe magician and does like one or two maic tricks and says the items are possessed. This is a one man operation and he makes mad money with this operation ~ $1k a day. In this world, the smart people make a living by munching on the suckers and that how his operation works.

Horrible Experience
Boring as heck because all you did was walk around on these steep hills. The mans getting old and you can barely hear his voice. The whole thing is a hoax to get more business into the hotel. The hotel is the only place that they let you walk around inside and everything else is just walk around SF and stop and he tells you a history story. Wasted my money and time. Save your money and go somewhere else to have a nice steak dinner instead.

Pleasantly Surprised
It was very chilly during the tour but well worth it. Our tour guide made it tons of fun and we really enjoyed the sites and stories. I actually want to go again.

Magic tricks ruined this tour
This would have been a fun experience had the host not resorted to magic tricks. I should have been worried when he used magic tricks at the beginning. This guy had us test a skeleton key (I was selected to be one of the participants) at the scene of a Victorian mansion that turned in my hand. The host insisted that this key was from the mansion and officially a haunted artifact. Later I found (online) that the skeleton key is a standard magic trip. That made my husband and I doubt the authenticity of the rest of the tour. Very disappointing. Why should he resort to that?

Intriguing stories!
The guide for the tour was such a great storyteller and enhanced the experience with some slight of hand tricks. Don't expect to enter any of the old victorian homes, though. You will only tour the hotel where the tour begins and walk to the various victorian homes where the tour will stop and the guide will provide you with stories and information.

Interesting bit of history...
I have participated on "ghost tours" in several other cities and was a little disappointed. That being said, the guide was very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. I wish he had played up that angle more and if anything "ghostly" after that had happened, then so be it. I agree with an earlier review that is was somewhat campy, but it was an interesting way to spend an evening.
