Back to Moulin Rouge (Le) What a waste I was on my honeymoon with my wife and she was all excited about going to the moulin rouge. We went to the early show, and did the show only no dinner. We made reservations thinking that would help us get a better table. We showed 45 minutes early, and waited in line, were forced to check our coats and pay a few euro per coat, and if you have a camera they want that checked too. Then they usher you into the room, and with reservation and all we where in the last row on one side of the theatre. What they don't tell you is you share the tables with other couples, we shared with 2 other couples. As if this wasn't bad enough the singing and dancing was like something off of a cruise ship. Most of the dancers were not in time with each other, and it was overall cheesy. We expected much better considering the roughly 200 Euro that the night cost us. We did the early show because then we where able to catch the metro back to the hotel. The moulin rouge is in a seedy part of town, so make arrangements to get home after the show.
Reviewed by: Jay294 from on Nov 05 2008 Highlight of Paris We spent a fantastic night, unplanned and off the cuff, tickets purchased the same day, we went to the late show and waited but worth the wait, staff we excellent and all we had perfect seats. You expect to pay big $$s for a show such as this. My advice is don't believe all you read, try for youself or you might miss the experience of a lifetime.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 16 2008 Bad I was in London and went to see Wicked. The musical about the life of the Wicked Witch of the West. I paid £120 for two 6 row center tickets, and I was blown away! It was truly amazing. It was worth every penny, and I would go again without a doubt.

Reviewed by: david from on Dec 12 2006 ugh- so disappointed We had 1 night to spend in Paris and thought it would be fun and memorable to see Moulin Rouge. What a mistake. We were told to arrive at 10:30 for the 11pm show. We arrived at 10:30 as we were told and proceded to wait in a long, hot line for over 40 minutes with no explanation. When we were finally allowed into the show after 11pm, we were seated at a table and served the "included" bottle of champagne. Another couple shared our table with us and the woman wanted a coke. It was not included in the price (fine), but it cost her 8 euros... for one coke! Sort of had an idea of what the show would entail.... expected the cheesy dancing, fake singing, costumes were fun to look at, but the sad part is that all the performers look bored and sad through their fake smiles. Could tell they were tired and didn't want to be there. Very disappointed with the entire night. So not worth the money!

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 31 2005 Overrated! this place is definitely overrated and over priced (Over $100/person which included 1/2 bottle champagne). The staff however was friendly, which is unusual for Paris. I caught myself yawning a couple of times. If you would like to go to a show, choose a musical instead
Reviewed by: Khalid from on Oct 21 2005 What a night! I love the whole atmosphere, the lights the colours, the people! What a show, I would definatly recommend this to anyone who appreciates fine dinning and entertainment. Its not just for the middle aged or older, nor is it just for the men, I am a 20 year old female and it was great
