Back to Queen Elizabeth (The) extremely disappointed after having stayed at Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda, we could not wait to stay at another Fairmont. were not advised until we got there (after 7 hr. drive, car parked in garage and all luggage carried up ourselves to check-in) that hotel employees were threatening to strike. we were given the option of finding another hotel on our own but chose to stay because we were told that the situation had been ongoing since mid-July with no employee walk-out as yet. we were then advised that 1 of our 2 rooms was not ready (it was already after 5 p.m.) but that $50 would be taken off the bill for that nite. the following day our rooms were not cleaned until after 5 p.m., the coffee creamers were curdled in one room, there were no glasses or coffee cups left after cleaning and the tub in one room did not drain so that the water was mid-calf level at the end of your shower. we were also charged in error for a room snack that was never taken from the provided supply.

Reviewed by: KB from on Aug 10 2008 leader of the pack I spent my honeymoon at The Queen Elizabeth. The service and treatment was something that words cannot really relay. They knew that it was our anniversary and the attention to little details was incredible. Our stay at the property MADE our honeymoon as special as it was. We stayed on the Gold Floor. If you have do not mind paying a bit more and it is a special occation, pay it! The staff and service is well worth it.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 27 2008 A wonderful stay Our experience at the Queen Elizabeth was nothing short of perfect. Staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were both quiet and clean, and concierge staff was great at assisting us with tour and theatre arrangements. Look forward to staying here again.
Reviewed by: George from on Oct 11 2007 Queen Liz is in the heart of it all... I stay at this hotel every November for a school trip. This hotel makes you forget you are in Montreal in November; its warmth, sophistication, and style makes the Fairmont experience wonderful. Montreal's underground city begins right under the hotel. The hotel is all Five Star and service is fantastic.
Reviewed by: Ryan from on Aug 21 2007 Ideal for the meetings I attended This hotel has a "convention floor" between the room floors and the entrance lobby. This worked very well for our group, numbering about 300. The food service was imaginative and very efficient.
Reviewed by: Herbert from on Apr 29 2007 Try to avoid - it is a gamble The hotel itself enyoys a good reputation but an amateur management seems to be just cashing in on. There are plenty of other good hotels downtown Montreal.
Reviewed by: Anonymous from on Mar 13 2007 A Regal Name, However Plain If you have never been to The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, but are planning a trip, don't get your hopes up too high. The Ritz, Pomp, and Opulance that comes to mind when you think of The Queen of England and probably are accustomed to if a Fairmont regular is simply not found here. This is a nice hotel don't get me wrong. It is just plain by Fairmont standards. It does not deliver the impressive lobbies and appearance of say The Empress in Victoria or the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec. It reminds you of a supersized polished up Holiday Inn.
