A 90-minute drive northeast of Tulsa brings you to Grand Lake of the Cherokees, on the southern banks of which sits this incredible outdoor museum. Built by Harvey and Bernice Jones in 1968, this walk-through village contains thousands of artifacts dating back to the turn of the century, housed in over 100 buildings from the same time period. Everything from antique furniture to clothing, tools and glassware are on display, all serving as reminders of yesteryear, and all free to the public. The walk is steep at times, so the physically challenged might need help, but this is definitely worth the trip.
