Recognizing the Chinese Legacy
Ceramics the world over are a treasured thing and more so if they date back to more than 300 years. The Ceramics Collection at Bahay Tsinoy Museum gives a rare glimpse into the Chinese influence on arts and crafts of Philippines. Many such artifacts from the 10th and 17th centuries have been discovered and are a living testimony to the country's Chinese connection. The museum is closed on Mondays.
Many species of shells and mollusks the world over have become extinct due to environmental reasons and some of them are kept here at the Rare Philippine Shell Collection. This collection at Bahay Tsinoy displays permanently exhibits like Gloria Maris, Golden Cowrie and the Sundial. One of the rarest of mollusks, the Cypraea Valentine can also be found here. The Museum is closed on Mondays.
