This spectacular restaurant is located in the cellar of the equally spectacular four-star Schwarzer Adler Hotel, a lovely 16th century patrician establishment. The whitewashed walls and thick stone pillars lend the place an authentic feel. Run by the Ultsch family for several generations, the food is traditional but excellent. The cream of potato soup is legendary and the fish dishes exquisite. Try the fillet of salmon and perch on herb rice. The wine list features an abundance of the so-called "romantic" wines, amongst them a Cuvet Prestige Zweigelt, a Blaufränkisch and a light Grüner Veltliner from Mautern on the Danube.booking is advisable.
