This rustic restaurant, owned by the Lübeck Seafarer's Society since 1535, is one of the oldest and most popular places in town. Generally full to the gunnels, the waiters always manage to keep on top of things and the quality of the food is never less than exceptional. The interior is furnished with antique tables and the walls are decorated with model ships and maritime antiques. As expected, the menu features local fish dishes like plaice and herring, but it also offers a variety of soups, meat dishes and seasonal specialties. The Gotteskeller bar is particularly cosy and can be booked for festivities.
