The Malerwinkel, or Painters Corner, deserves its name. This picturesque panorama has been an inspiration for countless artists and it is also one of the most popular motifs for photographers. The impressive ensemble of St. Mary's, St. Peter's and - on the right side - the Cathedral in the background provides a lovely contrast to the old warehouses and modest small houses along the Trave river. A bit secluded, the Malerwinkel can be reached best by using the Wallstraße, starting at the Holstentor.
