Back to Lenox Hotel Rethink your reservation The accommodations weren't up to par. I was lead to believe that the amenities that the hotel was offering would be in every room. Most of them were not available. The concierge did a great job in planning our excursions however; the front desk staff does not call when they are supposed to. Whether it is for your room being ready or your car is waiting. The commodes were broken most of the time in the room. For the amount of money we paid, it was not worth it. Please reconsider your reservation.
Reviewed by: Jennifer from on Aug 24 2007 Loved the Lenox. Great Choice Stay at this hotel for a taste of Boston's charm and character. A great location for shopping or sightseeing. I was with my husband and he was at the hynes convention center for a meeting. Seemed so much nicer than the big hotels we had a choice to stay at. Only a block away. Glad we picked this one. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks across the street. No pool.....but other than that it was just what we wanted. Nice staff, that knew my name after the first day. A hopping lobby bar that seemed popular with the locals and a casual irish pub with yummy food. I loved the free wireless. I'd recommend the Lenox Hotel. Read the reviews about low lights. This hotel does a great job with all things ecological. Lot's of information about it in the rooms. Even a book written by the owner.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 20 2007 Rather disappointing I stayed at the Lenox during my most recent return to Boston (I'm a native) and must say the overall experience was disappointing. I was initially impressed by the grandeur of the lobby; that feeling faded as I walked toward my room. The hallways were dimly lit--perhaps for ambiance, but more likely to hide the stained and faded carpet. They also reeked of stale smoke. The non-smoking room I had requested was not ready, despite the fact that it was a few hours past regular check-in time. The only room non-smoking room available (on a weekday in mid-May) was miniscule, and had a lovely view of what appeared to be a generator and a chicken-wire cage.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 09 2006 Lenox - A Charming Second Home The Lenox proved to be a charming oasis to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of a busy city. The best thing about The Lenox is when you are ready to see the city and really experience Boston as it is meant to be had, The Lenox is right there smack dab in the middle of it with convenient access to day tour departure sites, the Back Bay, and fine restaurants. Housekeeping staff is friendlier than ever and provides service with a smile. Reception staff gave excellent explanation to any questions and responded quickly to personal needs. The Concierge and other staff were quick to orient the unfamiliar visitor to their surroundings and Azure and Solas wait staff made you feel right at home. It was a nice place to call home for a week. The hotel is old and the wear shows in the rooms, but the small room feel and the fact that it is not a large hotel were a plus. The ecofriendliness of the hotel does not hurt either!
Reviewed by: Ericka from on Apr 03 2006 Great Location and a Boston flavor I was very charmed by my stay at the Lenox hotel in Boston. I was with my husband of 4 years and we really enjoyed our great view of Beacon street, the proximity to restaurants, Newbury Street, and the Prudential Center. When we arrived we were tired from our flight but we had a speedy check in and the room was prepared for us. We even went downstairs to the bar "Solas" which had very good drinks and snacks for us. We felt refreshed so we explored the area. I was so pleased that the hotel was easy to find and so close to so much shopping. It's a little more, but the value is higher. I recommend it if you're coming to Boston for the first time and want a sure-fire pleasant stay.
