These two classical watchtowers were built between 1810-1811 in Sachsenhausen and formed part of the new security system for the town in the era of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt. The square, three-story constructions with sloped gable roofs were located on either side of the main city gate. They have large entrance halls and are each connected to the gate.
