The tower of the neo-gothic Herz-Jesu-Kirche dominates Graz's skyline and is the single highest church tower (109 metres) in the entire Steiermark region. The son of the famous Graz builder Georg Hauberrisser der Ältere built the single-aisle church out of red bricks in 1891. The bells were destroyed during the First World War and were later replaced. Three artists from Vienna are responsible for the 18 large paintings inside the church.
