Back to Howard Plaza Hotel Taipei Think twice before i'll stay there again My mom and I stayed for a week in March with the hotel. The hotel is very conviniencly located however, it is pretty run down by today's standards. Specially there were sewer smell from the bathroom drain. We had to use extra towels to cover the drain to prevent the odor comes out. The buffet was not great, the choices were poor and the service was just o.k. And it's very noisy, you can heard people talking in the hall way even a few doors down form us.

The hotel is one of those built around a central atrium - the inside rooms all get noise from the atrium - and there is a lot of noise. The hotel has a piano that is played esentially all day - starts at lunch time; in the eve about 5 it adds amplified singing - does not stop until after 9:00 PM - the sound is so loud in the room that you can not hear the TV. When the piano stops, you realize that they also play music thru hallway speakers - that starts at 7:00 AM and goes until midnight. The sound comes right thru the door. business asociates in outside rooms tell me it is the same - only traffic noise replaces the piano.
