Back to New Century Hotel Disappointing the hotel does not worth the 5 star rating. The room is dirty, there are stains on the carpet and sofa. The furniture is broken and the toilet looks like it needs a good scrub down.
Reviewed by: Li Lin from on Dec 17 2008 Worst than most third rate, roadside motels Everything about this place was a disappointment. The exterior is nothing short of tacky. It looks like the set of an under-budget, made for tv, third world movie. The staff looks miserable, there are people sleeping in the lobby chairs overnight, and had a lingering spell of stale cigarettes. The "upgraded" room we stayed it was simply a bigger version of the junk offered in all the other rooms; torn furniture, yellow carpet, and a semi-clean bed, not to mention that we could hear the conversation that people in the room next to us were having.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 16 2008 5 star? -- more like 2 star The place is a big casino with a motel attached to it. The rooms are not bad, but unclean. The service is allright but everything is inconvinent. They are not allways honest about amenities and other things. There is only one shuttle to the ferry terminal and one to the chinese border. That's it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 27 2006 Extreme Unhealthy Condition We rented 3 rooms for 1 nights in February 2005. All air ventilation outlets in 3 rooms were covered with mould. Mould could be found everywhere in the washrooms. Vanity table tops were not cleaned from last guest. Sofas & chairs were covered with a lot of stains. Such severe unhealthy condition should be reported to the Government for actions. Bed sheets were clean but torn. Complaints were ignored by the service manager.
